Chocolate Chip Nut Bread image

This is the best bread ever! Chocolate chip cookies in a loaf. So good with a big mug of hot coffee.

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 large eggs
2 cup(s) brown sugar, firmly packed
2 tablespoon(s) butter, melted
4 cup(s) all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) baking soda
1 teaspoon(s) baking powder
2 cup(s) sour milk, see note in directions
1 cup(s) pecans, chopped
1 cup(s) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Grease 2 loaf pans. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl beat eggs, add sugar and butter, set aside.
  • In a medium bowl mix flour, baking soda and baking powder. Add dry ingredients alternately with the sour milk to the egg mixture. Mix well.
  • Add the chopped nuts and chocolate chips. Mix well. Pour evenly into the two greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for about 60 minutes or until toothpick in center comes out clean.
  • Note: To make Sour Milk; measure 2 cups whole milk and remove 2 tablespoons of the milk and replace it with 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Mix well. Let stand 15 minutes before using.
