1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • Cut asparagus into 1 1/2-inch lengths.
  • Boil water, soy sauce and sugar in a large saute pan over high heat.
  • Add asparagus and reduce heat to low.
  • Simmer until tender-crisp (about 5 minutes).
