Chinese Marinated Steak image

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 1/2 teaspoons canola oil
1 1/2 teaspoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 1/2 tablespoons red-wine vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic in oil
12 ounces boneless sirloin steak, 3/4 inch thick

Steps:

  • Combine oil, soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, ginger and garlic.
  • Trim the external fat from the beef and cut into slices 3/4 inch thick. Marinate beef in mixture until it is time to cook it.
  • Remove steaks from marinade and reserve the marinade. Prepare stove-top grill or preheat broiler.
  • Grill or broil beef about 5 minutes, turning once or twice and brushing with marinade each time.
