Chinese Beef image

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 1/2 lb beef strips
2 Tbsp oil
1 cup water
1 med onion, sliced
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/4 tsp ground ginger
2 sm green peppers, sliced 3/4"
1 Tbsp cornstarch
2-3 tsp sugar
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 sm tomatoes, quartered

Steps:

  • Cook beef in oil. Stir in water, onion, garlic & ginger. Heat to boil; reduce heat, cover & simmer 20 minutes. Add green pepper during last 5 minutes.
  • Blend cornstarch, sugar & soy sauce. Stir into meat. Cook, stirring till thick. Boil & stir one minute.
  • Place tomatoes on meat, cover & cook on low till tomatoes are heated thru, about 3 minutes.
