Chicken Soup with Kale image

Put a twist on the classic chicken noodle soup with this Chicken and Kale Soup. Made with orzo pasta this Chicken and Kale Soup will not disappoint.

1/4 cup KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 carrots, diagonally sliced
1 bay leaf
1 qt. (4 cups) fat-free reduced-sodium chicken broth
1/2 cup orzo pasta, uncooked
1/2 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into thin strips
4 cups loosely packed stemmed kale leaves, chopped
1/2 cup PLANTERS Sunflower Kernels

Steps:

  • Heat dressing in large saucepan on medium heat. Add onions and garlic; cook and stir 5 min. or until crisp-tender. Add carrots, bay leaf and broth; stir. Bring to boil; simmer on medium-low heat 20 min., adding orzo for the last 5 min.
  • Add chicken; cook 5 to 8 min. or until done, stirring frequently. Stir in kale; cook and stir 3 min. or just until wilted. Remove and discard bay leaf.
  • Serve soup topped with sunflower kernels.
