Chicken Pastel image

This chicken pastel recipe is so loved by my kids & some family members because of its creamy taste.

1/2 kg chicken breast, diced
1 1/2 c carrots, diced
1 1/2 c potatoes, diced
1 big can vienna sausage, cut into 4
2 pcs. chorizo de bilbao, cut into cubes
1 small can button mushrooms
1 small can evaporated milk
1 small pack cheese, grated
2 c water
1 Tbsp flour, dilluted w/ a small amount of water
1 pc knorr cubes
4 Tbsp melted butter
1/4 c diced onions
1 Tbsp minced garlic
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Melt butter or margarine. Suaté minced garlic & onions when butter or margarine is completely melted.
  • 2. Add chicken. When chicken is no longer pink in color, add water.
  • 3. Add chicken knorr cubes. Season w/ salt & pepper. Simmer until the chicken becomes tender.
  • 4. Half way through cooking the chicken add chorizo de bilbao. Simmer.
  • 5. When chicken is done, add potatoes, carrots, sausage, & mushrooms. Mix until well blended. Simmer.
  • 6. When potatoes, carrots, sausage, mushrooms are done, add evaporated milk & grated cheese. Mix thoroughly do not cover. Check seasoning according to taste.
  • 7. Lastly, add the flour diluted w/ water a little at a time. Mix thoroughly, allow to simmer again. Serve hot. ENJOY COOKING:-)
