Cheesy Good Crab Dip image

Many years ago, a dear friend served this at a get together and I have changed it some since then. It is always a favorite when the holidays are around but I also make it through the year. The more cheese the better is what I hear alot, Lol I hope everyone enjoys it.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup(s) mayonnaise
1 package(s) cream cheese, soften
8 ounce(s) sour cream
1 package(s) cheddar cheese, shredded
1 package(s) imitation crabmeat, diced
2 teaspoon(s) garlic salt
1/4 cup(s) green onions

Steps:

  • Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees. In a mixer, add the sour cream, mayonniase and cream cheese and mix throughly. After that is done add the garlic salt so it will be mixed well into the recipe.
  • Fold in the green onions and half the bag of the cheddar cheese, the other half will be used on the top. Add the crab meat to the mixture and mix well.
  • Make sure that you spray the bowl that you are using to cook this in well and put the dip in and put in oven. Do not put the other half of the cheese on the mixture till the last 5 minutes of cooking. Cook for about 35 minutes till heated through and bubbly.
  • You could makes substitutions (lite sour cream, not fat free, tastes funny to me)one third less fat for the cream cheese, with this recipe and make a bread bowl to serve this out of.
