Cheddar Dog Biscuits Recipe - Belly Full image

These homemade Cheddar Dog Biscuits are perfect for training a puppy, rewarding your veteran fur baby, or great for gift giving!

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 cup finely grated cheddar cheese ((from a block, not pre-shredded from a package))
1/2 cup honey
3/4 cup unsweetened pure applesauce
1 large egg
3 cups rice flour (, plus more for dusting)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cheddar cheese, honey, applesauce, and egg until incorporated.
  • Add in the rice flour and mix with a rubber spatula until combined.
  • Turn dough out onto a floured surface and roll out until it's 1/4-inch thick.
  • Using a 3-inch cookie cutter, cut out shapes.
  • Arrange on the baking sheet.
  • Bake until just lightly browned on the bottom, 10-12 minutes.
  • Transfer to a rack and let cool completely. Make sure they are room temperature and crisp before storing.
