This is one of my Grandma's recipes . I have not personally made these but have ate them many times when I was growing up. Number Of Ingredients 14

CREAM TOGETHER :
1/2 c honey
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 c oil
1/4 c margarine
2/3 c carob powder ; a chocolate substitute
2 tsp vanilla
SIFT TOGETHER :
1 1/4 c (pre-sifted) flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 c walnuts (or raisins)
FOR THE TOPPING :
coconut for garnish

Steps:

  • 1. Mix the creamed and dry mixture together until creamy.
  • 2. Pour onto a flat cake pan and bake at 325° - 350° for 20 - 25 minutes .
  • 3. Sprinkle the top with coconut , cut into squares and serve .
