Bacon can be prepared up to 3 days ahead and stored in the refrigerator between sheets of waxed paper in a large resealable food storage bag. Let stand at room temperature at least 30 minutes before serving.

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 375. Line 15"x10" jelly roll pan with heavy-duty foil. Spray wire rack with non-stick spray;place in prepared pan.
- 2. Cut bacon in half crosswise;arrange in single layer on a prepared wire rack. Combine sugar,water,and red pepper in a small bowl;mix well. Brush generously over surface of bacon.
- 3. Bake 20-25 minutes or until bacon is dark brown. Immediately transfer to serving platter;cool completely.
