BY-THE-SEA CHILES RELLENOS CASSEROLE image

Yield Serves 4 - 6

Number Of Ingredients 12

4 slices white bread, crusts trimmed and buttered on one side
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 cups shredded monterey jack cheese
3/4 cup cleaned crabmeat
1/2 cup cooked shrimp, tails removed
1 4 oz. can chopped green chiles
6 eggs
2 cups milk
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dry mustard

Steps:

  • Arrange bread buttered side down in 7 x 11 in. pan. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over bread. Arrange crabmeat over cheddar and shrimp over crabmeat. Sprinkle with monterey jack cheese. Distribute all oc the copped green chiles over the top. In bowl, mix the remaining ingredients completely with a whisk. Pour over the casserole and cover. Chill 4 hours or overnight. Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 50 minutes or until lightly browned. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
