Buttermilk Candy Glaze image

1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon light corn syrup

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in saucepan, mix well.
  • Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
  • Cook to 236* on candy thermometer.
  • Do not stir.
  • Pour over cake.
