How to make Buttercrust Pastry Dough

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 cups flour (measure carefully, do not pack!)
1/2 cup unsalted butter (4 oz)
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
6 tbsp ice water

Steps:

  • In food processor, layer 1 c flour, frozen cubed butter, 1 cup flour. Pulse several times. Scrape the processor. Add ice water, pulsing again until it looks like bread crumbs. Dump onto surface and press together. Form into disc. Makes enough for 1 pie.
