BRUSSEL SPROUTS WITH LEMON PEEL image

Number Of Ingredients 4

1/2 c chopped fresh chives or green onions
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, cut into small pieces
1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
2 pounds brussels sprouts, halved

Steps:

  • Combine chives, butter, and lemon peel in medium bowl. Bring large pot of salted water to a boil. Add brussels sprouts and cook until tender, about 8 minutes. Drain well. (Can be prepared 4 hours ahead. Cover butter and brussels sprouts separately and let stand at room temperature.) Return brussels sprouts to same pot. Rewarm over medium heat. Add butter mixture; stir until butter melts and coats sprouts. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
