Brownie Biscotti image

Great coffee dunkers! Easy for first time biscotti makers!

Number Of Ingredients 13

1/2 cup(s) butter/margerine
3 - eggs
2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
2 1/2 cup(s) flour
1 1/3 cup(s) sugar
3/4 cup(s) baking cocoa powder
2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1/2 teaspoon(s) baking soda
1 cup(s) almonds, blanched, toasted, chopped
1/2 cup(s) miniture semisweet chocolate chips
DRIZZLE
1/2 cup(s) white chips chocolate
11/2 teaspoon(s) shortening

Steps:

  • In large bowl, combine butter,eggs and vanilla blend well using mixer.
  • In another bowl, combine flour,sugar,cocoa,baking powder,and baking soda. Mix with fork till well blended.
  • Combine all dry ingredients to wet gradually stiring in little at a time. Dough will be crumbly.
  • Place dough onto a lightly floured surface knead in almonds and chips. Cut in half. Form into 2- 12"x3" logs. Place onto ungreased cookie sheet leaving 3" between logs. *I love using parchment paper.
  • Bake 325 degrees for 30-35 min. or until tops look cracked. Pull from oven and cool 15 min. Carfully transfer to cutting board. Cut with serrated knife on the diagonal.in 1/2" slices. Return to baking sheets careful to lay on its side and bake another 20-25 min.
  • Make drizzle and add to biscotti when it is still warm.
