Brown Rice Casserole image

This recipes is great for potlucks or family meals. Also it can easily be divided for smaller families.

Number Of Ingredients 13

4 c brown rice, cooked
2 lb ground beef
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
4 tsp sage, dried
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1 1/2 c milk
2 celery ribs, chopped
1/2 large bell pepper
1/2 medium onion, chopped
2 can(s) cream of mushroom soup
2 can(s) mushrooms (4 oz. cans)
4 oz shredded cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Cook ground beef with salt, pepper, sage, and cayenne pepper until browned and no pink remains. Drain.
  • 2. Stir in rice, milk, celery, green pepper, onion, soup, and mushrooms.
  • 3. Transfer to a lightly oiled 13x9x2-inch pan or large casserole. Sprinkle cheese over top.
  • 4. Cook uncovered in 350 degree oven 45 minutes or until center is bubbly.
