BRENT'S POLISH SAUSAGE AND SAUERKRAUT image

1 Package Kielbasa Sausage
1 Jar Sauerkraut
1 Stick Margarine
2 Cups Brown Sugar
2 Small Granny Smith Apples
1/2 White Onion
4 Medium Potatoes

Steps:

  • - Peel potatoes. - Boil potatoes in large pot for 15 minutes or until tender. - Drain potatoes and leave in pot. - Cut slices of apples and onion. - Melt half a stick of margarine in a pan. - Place sauerkraut, apples, and onions in buttered pan. - Add brown sugar on top. - Mix everything and sautee until sauerkraut is browned and onions clear. - When about halfway done, melt the other half of the margarine stick into the sauerkraut mix. - Cut kielbasa sausages into small slices. - Brown kielbasa slices while sauerkraut mix is sauteeing. - Once sauerkraut mix and kielbasa slices are done, mix them all in the pot with the potatoes. - Continue cooking entire mix on medium for about 5-10 minutes and mix everything together.
