Feijoada is the undisputed national dish of brazil, it is traditionally cooked with pork ( the entire pig, in fact ) only served at noontime. It is such a heavy fat filled dish that a nap is suggested post consumption.

Steps:
- 1. In a Dutch oven, combine beans, beef, tomatoes, onion, garlic and 8 cups of water.
- 2. Bring to boil over medium heat, boil 10 minutes. Skimming off foam.
- 3. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for approx. 1 1/2 hour or until beef is tender.
- 4. Season with pepper, stir in rice. Heat through and serve immediately.
