1 teaspoon cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1 cup dark sweet cherry, pitted (fresh or frozen, thawed)
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon brandy
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Steps:

  • Mix sugar, cornstarch and allspice in a medium skillet.
  • Stir in cherries, water, brandy, and lemon juice.
  • Stir over medium heat until mixture boils and thickens; boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Serve warm.
