Bourbon Chicken (Stove Top Recipe) - Recipes That Crock! image

This Bourbon Chicken recipe is a stove top version of our reader favorite Crock Pot Bourbon Chicken. This is just as amazing as the original!

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 lb boneless skinless chicken (, cut into bite-size pieces)
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
1/2 cup chicken broth (or bourbon)
2 Tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 Tablespoon dried minced onions
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1 Tablespoon corn starch
1 Tablespoon water
rice (prepared)

Steps:

  • Place your chicken pieces in a large saucepan or medium pot.
  • Mix together remaining ingredients (except for cornstarch, water and rice) in a medium size bowl until well blended.
  • Pour over chicken.
  • Mix together cornstarch and water in a small bowl or coffee cup.
  • Pour cornstarch mixture into pot/pan and stir until well combined.
  • Cook uncovered on medium high heat until it comes to a boil (about 5 minutes).
  • Reduce heat to medium, cover and cook for additional 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and let it cool for 5 minutes to let your sauce thicken.
  • Serve your chicken on a bed of rice drizzled with the sauce
