BLUEBERRY MAPLE SYRUP image

Yield 2 1/3 cups

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp lemon zest
Juice of 1 lemon
2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
1/4 cup maple syrip
1/8 tsp salt

Steps:

  • Stir together sugar, 1 cup water, cinnamon, lemon zert, and lemon juice in a medium-size heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat; reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer, stirring often, 5 minutes or until sugar dissolves and mixture thickens slightly. Add blueberries; simmer 10 to 15 minutes or until blueberries have popped. Remove from heat; stir in maple syrup and salt.
