MY HUSBAND SHOWED ME HOW TO MAKE FRIED CORN BREAD. THANK YOU HONEY AND BIG MAMA.THERE IS NOTHING LIKE GOOD OLD SOUTHERN COOKEN.

1 1/2 cup(s) self-rising corn meal ( white)
1 - egg
- milk
- canola oil

Steps:

  • IN A SKILLET ADD YOUR OIL AND MAKE IT VEREY HOT TO START.YOU WELL LOWER IT WHEN YOU START TO FRY. THEY WELL LOOK LIKE PAN CAKES. YOU REALLY NEED A SKILLET FOR THIS RECIPE!!!
  • IN BOWL PUT CRON MEAL AND EGG AND SLOWLY ADD THE MILK UNTIL IT IS LIKE PEANUT BUTTER MIX WELL. I PUT THE BATTER IN A 1/4 MEASUREING CUP AND POUR IT IN THE OIL AND SMOOTH IT OUT AND COOK UITIL GOLDEN BROWN ON BOTH SIDES , MAKE SURE THE CENTER IS COOKED.YOU CAN MAKE THEM AS BIG AS YOU LIKE , I MAKE MY ABOUT 3INCH ROUNDS. SERVE WITH BUTTER AND /OR HONEY , JELLY, JAM, ANY THING IS GOOD ON FRIED CRON BREAD!!!!
