Best Broccoli Souffle image

A delicious taste with a crispy cheese topping makes it a winner.

1 bag(s) (14 ounces) frozen chopped broccoli, thawed
1/4 c butter
1/4 c flour
1 c milk
3 eggs, beaten
2/3 c mayonnaise
3 Tbsp chopped onion
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 c cheddar cheese, shredded

Steps:

  • 1. Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring water to a boil. Add broccoli, cover and steam 2 to 4 minutes.
  • 2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and stir until mixed. Slowly add the milk. stirring to prevent lumps. Cook until thickened, about 10 minutes.
  • 3. Combine broccoli, eggs, mayonnaise and onion in a 3 quart baking dish; cover with white sauce and stir.
  • 4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and bake until set, about 15 minutes more.
