Steps:
- In soup pot, cook beef, onions and garlic until beef is well browned.
- With slotted spoon, remove beef mixture. To drippings add oil and cabbage. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until tender, about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Add meat mixture, tomatoes, water, wine, crushed red pepper and salt. Bring to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Add more wine if desired.
- Stir in beans, oregano and parmesan cheese. Heat through, about 10 minutes.
- May serve with additional parmesan cheese sprinkled on top.
