BEEF LOIN STRIP STEAKS WITH TARRAGON BUTTER image

(10 oz.) beef loin (New York) strip steaks, about 1 inch thick
1 tsp. garlic pepper seasoning
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 tbsp. chopped fresh arragon or 1/2 tsp. dried tarragon
1/4 tsp. worcestershire sauce
3 tbsp. finely chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp. olive oil

Steps:

  • 1. Sprinkle steaks evenly with garlic pepper. Cover an set aside. 2. Heat grill to high direct heat. Meanwhile, blend softened butter, tarragon, and worcestershire sauce in small bowl. Cover and set aside in cool place. 3. Combine onion and garlic on one end of 12x6-inch peice of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Drizzle with olive oil. Fold foil over to enclose onion mixture, forming 6-inch square package; crimp to seal loosely. 4. Place steaks and foil packet on grill. Grill steak, covered, for 4 to 6 minutes per side or to desired doneness. Remove onion packet after 5 minutes. Open packet and cool slightly. 5. Remove steaks from grill. Stir onion mixture into butter mixture. Serve steaks topped with butter.
