Basic Refrigerator Cookies image

Number Of Ingredients 9

3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup margarine or butter, softened
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup finely chopped nuts

Steps:

  • 1. In large bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, margarine, vanilla and eggs beat well. Add flour, baking powder and salt mix well. Stir in nuts. Divide dough into 3 equal parts. Shape each into roll 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Wrap each roll in plastic wrap refrigerate 2 hours or until firm.2. Heat oven to 425°F. Cut dough into 1/4-inch slices. Place slices 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.3. Bake at 425°F. for 5 to 7 minutes or until light golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheets.TIP: Cookie dough can be stored in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or in freezer for up to 6 weeks.
