Number Of Ingredients 10

1 tablespoon bacon fat or vegetable oil
1 large yellow onion, peeled and cut into 1/4-inch dice
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon malt vinegar
2 tablespoons molasses
2 teaspoons Creole mustard
1 teaspoon hot red pepper sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice, plus more to taste

Steps:

  • Heat the fat or oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Simmer for 15 minutes. Keep warm until ready to serve.
