Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
- 2. In a medium-size bowl, mash bananas and rum.
- 3. In another medium bowl, sift flour, baking powder, salt, allspice and soda together.
- 4. In a medium mixing bowl, beat sugar and butter until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- 5. Add flour mixture a little at a time until mixed in well.
- 6. Slowly add banana mixture, beating after each addition until smooth.
- 7. Add nuts.
- 8. Pour mixture into a greased 8 inch x 4 inch x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake about one hour, until firm and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
