BALSAMIC GLAZED PEARL ONIONS image

Number Of Ingredients 4

8 cups pearl onions - if fresh blanch for 3 minutes.
2 T olive oil
1 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • Saute onions in oil until lightly browned. Add vinegar and water and simmer briefly if frozen or until tender - about 15 minutes - if fresh. Prepare this far 2 days ahead and store liquid and onions separately. Reheat onions in liquid and then remove to heated platter and reduce liquid to a glaze. Spoon over onions and serve warm or at room temp.
