Baked Seafood Fondue image

There is a lot of prep work, but the results are so amazing. A wonderful appetizer for any party!

1 lb lump crabmeat, shells removed
1/2 lb cooked salad shrimp, peeled
1/2 c grated comte cheese
1/2 c grated emmenthaler cheese
1/2 c grated swiss cheese
1 c mayonnaise
1 c dry white wine
1/2 bunch green onions, finely chopped
6 clove garlic, minced
1/4 c red bell pepper, finely chopped
1 pinch nutmeg
2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  • 2. Combine all of the ingredients except crab and shrimp in a large saucepan and cook over medium-low heat, stirring until cheeses are thoroughly melted and mixture is smooth. Stir in crab and shrimp; cook for another few minutes. Pour mixture into an 8-inch baking pan or souffle pan.
  • 3. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until top is golden brown.
  • 4. Serve hot with sliced French baguette or crackers. Keep warm with a chafing dish.
