BAKED ICE CREAM PIE WITH BERRIES image

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 quart ice cream, vanilla or strawberry
1 1/2 C. fresh strawberries, crushed (or raspberries, blueberries (washed and drained)
At serving time make a meringue:
2 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 C. sugar

Steps:

  • Bake pie shell as directed or use graham cracker shell. Add vanilla ice cream. Then cover with berries. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until frothy. Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff and glossy. Cover ice cream and berries with meringue to rim of shell. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Bake in very hot oven 450 degrees for 3 to 5 min. until delicately browned. Serve Immediately.
