BAKED FRUIT COMPOTE image

Mandarin oranges
Pineapple tidbits
Pear halves
Cherry pie filling or sour cherries
Fried apples (can) or Apple pie filling
Sliced peaches
Apricots
Dried pitted prunes
Some dried or fresh cranberries
Marischino cherries (opt)
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp mace or 1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
1 tsp curry powder
1 tsp. ground coriander (opt)
grated orange rind (1-2 tsp)
3 Tbsp Orange Liqueur or orange juice
2 Tbsp. tapioca or cornstarch or arrowroot
Light Brown sugar (1/2 cup)

Steps:

  • Drain fruit well and combine. Put in large rectangular baking dish. Bake at 350 until hot and bubbly (40 min.). May make ahead.Is good reheated (in microwave).
