Baked Beans: With Hamburger, Sausage and Bacon image

When we have a cookout everyone wants me to bring my baked beans. They have a special taste by adding the stewed tomatoes and the hamburger, sausage and bacon. Also it has 3 different types of beans.

Number Of Ingredients 13

1/2 lb hamburger (lean)
1/2 roll of breakfast sausage
2 pieces of chopped cooked bacon
1 medium onion chopped
1 can(s) (16 ounce) can pork & beans
1 can(s) (medium-can) size kidney beans
1 can(s) butter beans
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 c bbq sauce
1/4 c ketchup
1/2 tsp chili powder or less
1 Tbsp mustard
1 small can of stewed tomatoes

Steps:

  • 1. Brown your hamburger mixed in with your sausage..(I use mild sausage), until browned, drain and set aside. I then fry my bacon and drain and cool.
  • 2. In a bowl mix your diced onion, can of pork and beans,(leave the juice from pork and beans) butter beans drained, kidney beans drained, brown sugar and barbeque sauce, chili powder, mustard and ketchup. Stir together. Drain a small can of stewed tomatoes and crush the tomatoes and add. (Do not leave the larger chunks). Add your hamburger, sausage and crumbled bacon and stir together. Make sure the consistency of the casserole is what you want. You don't want it to dry or too much liquid. If dry add more bbq sauce and ketchup.
  • 3. Spray with oil a 9 x 13 baking dish. Bake 350 degrees for 55 minutes or until bubbly. Serves 8
