WHEN I SAW THIS, I WAS THINKING GROSS, BUT THEN WHEN THE RECIPE EXPLAINED WHAT IT WOULD BE GOOD WITH I DECIDED TO COPY IT DOWN AND SHARE IT WITH YOU ALL. NEXT TIME YOU MAKE A HAM, OR GRILL OUT BURGERS, TRY IT OUT.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 lb good quality bacon
1 small onion, chopped
4-5 clove garlic ,minced
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c coffee
1/4 c maple syrup
1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 Tbsp mustard, grainy

Steps:

  • 1. Roughly chop bacon and cook in a heavy pot. Transfer to a bowl using a slotted spoon, draining off most drippings. Saute onion & garlic in the pot for 5 minutes until soft and starting to turn brown. Return the bacon to the pan, add the brown sugar, coffee, maple syrup, vinegar and mustard. Cook over medium heat for 1/2 hour, or until deep golden brown and thickened to the consistency of jam.
