Bacon Buffalo Cream Cheese Jalapenos image

These jalapeno poppers will not win a beauty contest, but once you taste them you'll realize it's what's inside that counts. The filling is creamy, hearty, and flavorful. We love the addition of ground beef; it bulks up the filling. Buffalo wing sauce makes these poppers a little different too. You taste the Buffalo flavor but...

Number Of Ingredients 8

16 medium jalapeno peppers washed, cut in half long ways and cleaned out
1 pkg cream cheese softened (room temp), 8 oz
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp onion powder
8 oz shredded cheddar, divided in half
3/4 lb browned & drained hamburger meat
1/4 c Buffalo wing sauce (I like mine spicy)
1 lb thin bacon, cut in half

Steps:

  • 1. Cook and drain ground meat. Set aside.
  • 2. Wash jalapenos. Cut the stems off first then cut them lengthwise. Scrape all the seeds out. (You may want to wear gloves for this part.)
  • 3. Line a cookie sheet with parchment. Lay out the jalapeno halves. Preheat oven to 375 degreed.
  • 4. Mix together the cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, 4 oz shredded cheddar (reserve the other 4 oz for later), cooked hamburger meat, and Buffalo wing sauce.
  • 5. Fill the jalapeno halves with the filling.
  • 6. Cut the bacon in half.
  • 7. Place a slice of bacon under a jalapeno half. Sprinkle a little cheese on top.
  • 8. Wrap the bacon around the jalapeno and secure it with a toothpick. Repeat the process to all the jalapeno halves.
  • 9. Bake in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes until the bacon gets crisp.
  • 10. Remove peppers from the oven. Allow to cool slightly before handling.
  • 11. ***Please make sure you wear gloves while handling the peppers***
