Categories     Chocolate     Dessert

Number Of Ingredients 6

6 Macintosh toffee bars (1 1/2 bags of toffee pieces = 1 bar)
1/3 Cup + 1/3 Cup Evaporated Milk
1 package dark chocolate cake mix
2/3 Cup - 1 TBLS melted margarine (butter is fine)
12 oz chocolate chips
1 Cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 Combine 1/3 Cup milk and toffee in a saucepan. Heat over low heat until melted. Combine dry cake mix, melted margarine, second 1/3 Cup of milk and nuts. (I have made them without nuts, just as good) Spoon 1/2 of this mixture into a 9 x 13 pan and bake for 6 minutes. Remove from oven, sprinkle with chocolate chips and press down lightly. Pour caramel mixture over top. Spoon rest of cake mixture over top. (Start at outside of pan and work towards the center. Smooth with spoon and fill in holes with spoonfuls.) Bake 18 minutes Allow to set at least 6 hours, preferably overnight, before serving.
