Steps:
- 1. preheat oven to 325
- 2. cream butter, shortening and sugar and then mix in eggs one at a time.
- 3. sift flour. baking powder, cocoa, and salt
- 4. mix buttermilk and vanilla together
- 5. alternate between adding wet and dry ingredients until all mixed together
- 6. Pour batter into a greased tube pan that has been dusted with cocoa powder and bake for 1 hour and 25 minutes. Let cake cool completely and then frost with cream cheese frosting.
- 7. For cream cheese frosting mix softened cream cheese and butter with confectioners sugar and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
