Steps:
- 1. In a saucepan, melt butter; stir in flour and cook until thick.
- 2. Gradually stir in milk and cook until bubbly and thickened.
- 3. Stir in cheese, salt and pepper.
- 4. Remove from heat.
- 5. Place three asparagus stalks on each ham slice.
- 6. Roll up; secure with toothpicks if necessary.
- 7. Place in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan; cover with cheese sauce.
- 8. Sprinkle with crumbs.
- 9. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
