Apricot Almond Tart image

Number Of Ingredients 16

CRUST
2 cup(s) all purpose flour
1/2 cup(s) sugar, granulated
1/2 cup(s) butter, room temperature
2 - eggs
FILLING
1/3 cup(s) apricot jam
1/2 cup(s) butter
2/3 cup(s) granulated sugar
3 - eggs
1 1/3 cup(s) ground almonds
1 teaspoon(s) almond extract
1 cup(s) sliced almonds
GLAZE
1/2 cup(s) strained apricot jam
1-2 teaspoon(s) almond liqueur, orange juice, or water

Steps:

  • CRUST: Combine first three ingredients in a food processor or with a pastry blender until crumbly. Add eggs, mixing dough to form a ball. Press dough with floured fingers into bottom and sides of an 11 inch flan pan.
  • FILLING: Spread jam over bottom of crust. Combine remaining ingredients except sliced almonds, mixing until smooth. Spread over jam in crust. Sprinkle with almonds.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F. for 35-40 minutes, or until golden.
  • GLAZE: Combine glaze ingredients. Spread over warm tart.
