Applesauce Cake Recipe - (4.1/5) image

1 pkg yellow, spice, or butter pecan cake mix, 3 eggs, 1/4 c water, 1 3/4 c applesauce, 1 t cinnamon, 1/2 t allspice, 1/4 t cloves, 1/4 t nutmeg, rum raisin frosting.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 grease and flour 9 x 13 pan. Blend all ingredients except frosting in large mixer bowl at low speed about ½ minute. Beat at medium speed about 4 minutes. Pour batter into pan. Bake until toothpick comes out clean 0 40-45 minutes. Rum raisin frosting - 1 pkg Betty Crocker creamy white frosting mix as directed, except heat butter in 1 qt saucepan until light brown. Stir in 1/3 c chopped raisins, 1/3 c chopped nuts, and 2 T rum.
