Steps:
- 1. In a med. bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar & cinnamon. In another med. bowl, whisk buttermilk, 4 tsp oil and eggs. Stir in flour, 2 tbsp sugar, baking powder & salt. 2. In lg. heavy, high sided skillet, heat 2 cups oil until it registers 375 on a deep fat or candy thermometer. In batches, coat apples in batter and fry until golden brown, about 4 mins per batch, flipping halfway through. Transfer to a paper towel lines baking try. Toss apples in cinnamon sugar and serve immediately
