APPLE CRISP - FANNIE FARMER image

5 cups peeled and sliced apples (abut 1 1/4 pounds)
1/3 cup water
3/4 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 pound butter in small pieces

Steps:

  • Preheat to 350. Butter a 1 1/2 qt baking dish, spread apples in it and sprinkle 1/3 cup water on top. Combine flour sugar and spices in bowl and rub in butter with finers until it resembles coarse crumbs. Spread evenly over apples. Bake for 30 mintes.
