Apple Cream Tart image

My mom made this wonderful apple tart for me and I instantly put it on my list of favorites.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 1/2 c all purpose flour
3 Tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c butter
FILLING
3 large granny smith apples, peeled and sliced thin
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 c heavy cream
2 egg yolks

Steps:

  • 1. Combine flour, sugar and salt. Cut in butter. Press into spring form pan 1 inch up the sides. Arrange sliced apples over cruse. Combine sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • 2. Beat cream and yolks together. Pour over apples and bake until apples are tender and filling is set. Approx. 15-20 min. Serve with whipped cream if desired.
