Apple Coffee Cake image

Number Of Ingredients 14

2 cups Complete® wheat bran flakes (crushed to 1 cup)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup margarine or butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
2 egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup fat-free milk
1 1/2 cups chopped peeled apples
TOPPING
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Steps:

  • 1. Combine Kellogg's® Complete® Wheat Bran Flakes cereal, flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in medium mixing bowl. Set aside.2. In large mixing bowl, beat together margarine and the 3/4 cup sugar, on medium speed until thoroughly combined. Add egg whites and vanilla, beating until smooth. Beat in half of the cereal mixture. Add milk mix well. Beat in remaining cereal mixture. Stir in apples. Spread batter evenly in 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle with topping made by combining the 2 tablespoons sugar and the 1 teaspoon cinnamon.3. Bake at 375°F about 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center of cake comes out clean.
