- For cake: Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour a 12 C bundt pan (or spray with oil spray with flour). Sift flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt onto a piece of parchment paper. In mixer, mix oil, sugar and eggs and beat on high speed until a lemon yellow. Stir in flour mixture; blend carefully. Fold in apples and nuts, if desired. Stir in vanilla. Pour into pan and bake 75-90 min or until tester comes out clean. Cool slightly on rack, then invert on rack to remove pan and cool completely. Serve with caramel sauce drizzled over. For caramel sauce: Combine ingredients in small saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring, until desired consistency to drizzle over cake.
