Steps:
- To prepare Sweet Pastry : 1. Mix (A) until well combined and add in (B) and cream until smooth. 2. Add in sifted (C) and mix until well blended. 3. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or till firm. Take out of refrigerator and roll between 2 sheets of plastic wraps to the desired thickness and size. ** Weight of pastry is approx. 540g To prepare Apple Pie Filling : 1. Peel the apples and cut into slices or chunks. Cook with sugar until tender then discard liquid. 2. Add in butter, cinnamon powder and sultanas. Mix until well blended . Set aside to cool. To prepare Pie : 1. Grease a 10 inch pie pan. Roll out half of the sweet pastry to 3 mm thickness. 2. Line the pan with the rolled pastry. Place filling onto the pastry and egg wash the edges. 3. Roll out remaining half of the pastry to 3 mm thickness. Place pastry onto filling and press the edges with a fork. Egg wash the top of pastry lightly. Decorate with pastry cut-outs. 4. Bake at 200 Deg Celsius for 40 minutes or till golden brown. 5. Set aside to cool. Serve with Vanilla Sauce. To prepare Vanilla Sauce : 1. Bring the milk and cream to boil. Mix egg yolks and sugar till blended. 2. Gradually add in the boiled milk. Stir untill well combined. Cook over low heat until the custard thickened. 3. Remove from heat. Add in Vanilla Essence. Set aside to cool. 18 Servings
