60 MINUTE ROLLS image

Yield 2 dozen

Number Of Ingredients 7

5 tsp yeast
1/2 cup warm water
2 T butter
3 T sugar
1 1/4 cups milk
1 1/2 tsp salt
4 1/2 - 5 cups flour

Steps:

  • Combine yeast and warm water in 1 cup measuring cup; let stand 5 minutes. Combine butter and next 3 ingr in a heavy pan; cook over medium heat until butter melts. Remove from heat and cool. Stir in yeast and enough flour to make soft dough. Turn dough onto floured surface and knead until smooth. Place in well greased bowl, cover and let rise 15 min. Divide dough in half, shape each portion into 12 balls. Cover and let rise 15 minutes. Bake at 425 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
