Yield 9 brownies

Number Of Ingredients 8

3/4 cup flour
1 cup sugar
5 Tbs cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup soft shortening or vegetable oil
2 eggs
1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients (except nuts if using) in large bowl. Beat at speed 8 (or med high) for 3 minutes. Blend in nuts. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes in a 9x9 baking dish. Double recipe for a 9x13 baking dish. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if you like.
