1 cup raisins
1 cup hot water, or as needed
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup butter, softened
¼ cup packed brown sugar
1 cup brown sugar
⅓ cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Place raisins in a cup; pour in hot water to cover, and set aside to soak, about 5 minutes.
  • Place 1 1/2 cups flour in a large bowl; cut in 1/2 cup butter until crumbly. Stir 1/4 cup brown sugar into flour mixture; press mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9x9-inch pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned, about 15 minutes. Remove from oven, leaving oven on.
  • Beat 1 cup brown sugar and 1/3 cup butter together until smooth; stir in egg, vanilla extract, and cream. Strain raisins; stir raisins and 1 tablespoon flour into butter mixture. Pour raisin mixture over crust.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until filling is bubbly, about 20 minutes. Allow to cool before cutting into squares, about 30 minutes.

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups quick-cooking oats
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
FILLING:
4 egg yolks
2 cups (16 ounces) sour cream
1-1/2 cups raisins
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Combine the flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture (mixture will be crumbly). , Set aside 2 cups; pat remaining crumbs into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Cool., Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine filling ingredients. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 5-8 minutes. Pour over crust; sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Bake 15 minutes longer.

2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 egg, beaten
1 3/4 cups raisins
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup boiling water

Steps:

  • Mix flour, baking powder and sugar; cut in butter as for pie pastry;
  • Add beaten egg.
  • Keep 1/2 the mixture to sprinkle on top and put remaining half in square cake pan and press down.
  • In a saucepan, mix raisins, flour, sugar and salt. Pour boiling water over all and cook over medium heat until thickened. Cool mixture to lukewarm.
  • Pour raisin mixture over the cooked mixture.
  • Sprinkle with reserved mixture and bake for 1/2 hour at 350.
  • Cut in squares while it is cooling.

4 cups Old-Fashioned Quaker Oatmeal
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed dark-brown sugar
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 cups raisins
Zest of 1 lemon
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Nonstick cooking spray

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large bowl, add oatmeal, flour, sugar, pecans, baking soda, and salt; stir to combine. Add melted butter and vanilla and stir to incorporate; set aside.
  • In a small saucepan, combine raisins, 1/2 cup water, lemon zest, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil over medium heat, and immediately reduce heat to a simmer; continue cooking for 2 minutes. 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 Tbsp grated lemon zest
2 stick butter, softened

1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2-1/2 c oats (not instant)
1 c chopped walnuts, slightly toasted

Steps:

  • 1. HEAT oven to 375 F. Lightly grease a 9 x 13 pan; set aside.
  • 2. In saucepan, COMBINE raisins, sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice and lemon rind. Cook and stir over medium heat just until bubbly. Cool slightly.

3 1/2 cups raisins, washed
1 cup granulated sugar
4 tablespoons flour

  • Wash raisins.
  • Add to the boiling water on low heat in saucepot.

  • In the same bowl, mix together the eggs, 1 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour, salt, baking powder and vanilla until well blended. Stir in the raisins, coconut and cherries, adding a little bit of the cherry juice to keep it from becoming stiff. Spread over the baked crust in the pan.
  • Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until firm and lightly browned. Cool and cut into bars.
