I may have just discovered the greatest hot beverage of all time: Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate. Made with real pumpkin, white chocolate, milk, and all your favorite fall spices, this pumpkin-inspired hot chocolate is a hands-down winner!

5 cups milk
12 ounces white chocolate baking chips ((I used Ghirardelli White Melting Wafers.))
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup pumpkin puree
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
3 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Ground cinnamon and cinnamon sticks for garnish

Steps:

  • In a 4-quart Dutch oven or saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the milk, white chocolate, and heavy whipping cream until hot and creamy. Adjust the heat to a very low simmer. Do not boil.
  • Whisk in the pumpkin puree, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves. Heat to a comfortable drinking temperature.
  • In the meantime, beat the whipping cream until it begins to thicken. Add in the confectioners' sugar and vanilla. Beat until soft peaks form.
  • Serve the Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate in heatproof mugs. Top with whipped cream, a cinnamon stick, and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.

5 cups whole milk
12 ounces white chocolate, chopped
4 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup pure pumpkin puree
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cardamom
1/8 teaspoon allspice
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
1 cup Heavy Cream
1 teaspoon Vanilla Bean Paste or Pure Vanilla Extract
1 teaspoon Powdered Sugar

Steps:

  • In a heavy saucepan, combine 2 cups of milk, white chocolate, and cocoa powder.
  • Cook over medium heat, whisking periodically, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is well combined.
  • Whisk in the pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, allspice, and ginger.
  • Add the remaining milk, 1 cup at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
  • If desired, serve topped with whipped cream and a sprinkling of nutmeg or pumpkin spice. Just be sure not to fill the mugs too full before adding the whipped cream, or you might have some overflow.
  • Combine the cold heavy cream and vanilla or vanilla paste in a chilled non-reactive bowl.
  • Whisk by hand or using an electric mixture until the cream holds a loose peak.
  • A soft peak will hold a lazy curve when the beater or whisk is held upside down.

1 cup heavy whipping cream
3 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
HOT CHOCOLATE:
8 cups 2% milk
4 cups heavy whipping cream
2 cinnamon sticks (3 inches)
2 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice
1 tablespoon grated orange zest
1 can (15 ounces) pumpkin
1 cup sugar
1 cup white baking chips
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Additional pumpkin pie spice

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, beat cream until it begins to thicken. Add sugar and vanilla; beat until stiff peaks form.
